Alumni & Friends Travel
Each year, Lipscomb offers several custom-designed, U.S.-based and/or global travel learning trips primarily for alumni and friends.
The Alumni and Friends Travel program offers unforgettable journeys designed to foster connection, discovery and lifelong learning. Open to alumni, their families and friends, this program blends enriching cultural experiences with the camaraderie of shared university pride. Whether exploring iconic landmarks, hidden gems or engaging with local communities, each trip is carefully curated for comfort, insight and adventure.
These trips typically include activities not generally available to the public, such as when a noted artist Lipscomb alumnus led a trip to the Northeast and opened doors to artists’ private studios and homes for our participants.

Lipscomb University Alumni & Friends Travel Program is excited to partner with Mr. Jimmy the Cricket for a one-day, rousing and educational adventure encompassing the past, present and future!
Don’t miss this perfect opportunity to visit Auburn, Kentucky, and little-known Shaker Village which will be a delight for the senses. Come learn more about the Shaker religion and how the Shakers changed how we live today giving us things like the washing machine, the clothes pin and the broom.
Nestled in the rolling pastures of Southern Kentucky, our tour will be conducted by the expert longtime curator of these historic structures which were formerly occupied by this curious sect. Right next door we will visit a lovely monastery and Catholic Basilica which occupies some of the old Shaker buildings and be entertained by the monsignor himself. Compare and contrast the austerity of the Shakers with the opulence of the Catholic Basilica.
We will enjoy a fine private dining experience at The Shaker Inn while renowned expert Kaelin Vernon answers questions about the Shaker lifestyle. Later, we will visit Cheney’s dairy farm to enjoy learning from a sixth-generation expert and marvel at one of the first fully computerized dairy operations in America. This fascinating agritourism event is always a delight. Then select seasonal flavors of homemade ice cream like no other. Optional visit includes one of the largest antique shops in the south!

Remember when life moved at a gentler pace? When neighbors knew each other’s names and Sunday afternoons stretched long and peaceful? That world still exists, and it’s waiting for you in Pennsylvania’s beautiful Dutch country.
The Lipscomb University Alumni & Friends Travel Program invites you to climb aboard a motorcoach and enjoy six enriching days where history, faith and simplicity come together in the most heartwarming ways. You’ll be captivated by the “JOSHUA” show at the renowned Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre—a production so moving and magnificent, it stays with you long after the final curtain.
The Amish Experience opens a window into a world that chose a different path—one of intentional living, strong community bonds and quiet contentment. As you tour Lancaster’s rolling countryside, watching horse-drawn buggies clip-clop past pristine farms, you’ll find yourself wondering: what if we all slowed down just a little?
In Philadelphia, walk where our founders walked. Touch the stones that witnessed the birth of a nation. These aren’t just history lessons—they’re connections to the courage and vision that built America.
Throughout your journey, travel in comfort with fellow explorers who share your curiosity and appreciation for life’s richer experiences. Every mile brings new discoveries, every conversation deepens friendships.
