There are several steps in the process from applying to receiving financial aid, so it’s good to understand what to expect. There will be some waiting time between applying for admission and receiving your aid. We hope this helps as you think ahead.
Overview of Financial Aid Process
Apply for Aid
Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the appropriate academic year. Our aid year runs August to July and includes all three terms: Fall, Spring and Summer. Be sure to complete the correct FAFSA based on your starting term. (For example, students starting spring 2027 should complete the 26-27 FAFSA) The Lipscomb School code: 003486
Review your Financial Aid Package
You’ll be notified via your Lipscomb email address when a Financial Aid package is ready to view in myLipscomb Student Portal.
Accept Loans

- Accept / reject loans through myLipscomb Student Portal. You can get more info here: How to Accept your Graduate Student Loan
- Sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Complete the Loan Entrance Counseling.
Step 4: Complete Verification (if applicable)
- In some instances, supporting documentation will be required to verify the data you submitted on the FAFSA. The Financial Aid office will notify you by email if you are selected for verification.
- For identification only verification, the Financial Aid Office will send an email requesting that you stop by the Financial Aid office with your unexpired valid government-issued photo ID and complete a short Statement of Educational Purpose form.
Receive Offered Aid
- Loan arrangements will show as Pending credits on your Registration Bill until the disbursement date - typically about two weeks after the last day to drop classes in a term.
- If you have a balance due, visit our webpage on Paying Your Bill to review payment options and plans available.
- If you are expecting a stipend from loan proceeds, be sure to set up direct deposit with eRefunds through the TouchNet payment page in your Student Portal. Stipends are sent within 14 days of your loan disbursement.

There are several ways to finance a Lipscomb degree: grants, scholarships, loans and work study. Based on these resources, our financial counselors will put the best available package together for you. In addition, Lipscomb will apply any outside scholarships or grants you have earned to your financial aid package.

Payment Arrangements for Fall Term is due August 1st
Please ensure you have completed your FAFSA application for access to Direct Federal Unsubsidized Loans two weeks or more prior to the start of the semester to ensure timely disbursement.
Begin filing your FAFSA for the coming school year.
