Presidential Leadership Scholars Program
The Presidential Leadership Scholars Program provides students a unique opportunity to enhance leadership skills by engaging with some of the top leaders in Nashville and across Tennessee as well as Lipscomb University President Candice McQueen.
Presidential Leadership Scholars will have the opportunity to engage with university administrators, observe the inner workings of a leadership team and participate in collaborative conversations with these leaders. In addition, scholars will participate in student organizations that serve in advisory roles to the university’s president, represent the school at signature events and activities, and get a behind-the-scenes view of organizational leadership.
The program is strategically designed for those who have held student leadership positions, aspire to lead organizations, seek to develop their leadership skills and form their own personal leadership approach.
President's Student Advisory Council
All Presidential Leadership Scholars will serve on the President's Student Advisory Council (PSAC). PSAC meets regularly with the Lipscomb University President to provide direct feedback on key issues and explores new opportunities to improve the overall student experience at Lipscomb University.
Professional Development
Through a variety of unique experiences, scholars will develop and enhance skills that will equip them for their professional pursuits through a specially designed leadership development course, engaging with local business and state government leaders in select events and opportunities, and participating in a special travel program.
Other Opportunities
Scholars will be guests of the university president at the Presidential Signature Series events, such as the Landiss Lecture and the McClure Lecture on Faith & Science, with unique opportunities to interact with featured presenters; be tapped to engage across the campus community in leadership positions and have priority consideration for graduate programs in the College of Leadership & Public Service following graduation, among other initiatives. All Presidential Leadership Scholars will attend a retreat prior to the start of school in August to kick off the program.
