Serving, Worshiping, and Seeing God at Work in the Bahamas
June 4, 2026
BAHAMAS 🇧🇸 MAY 2026 | Day 1
May 23, 2026 | Nashville > Philly > Nassau
A couple of airplane rides and just like that, we made it back to the Bahamas.
We had lunch when we arrived at one of our favorite restaurants - Acropolis Cafe, where we had cheeseburgers, chicken, salmon, gyros, salads, and fries. Some of us tried an in-house juice drink and their delicious coffee. We then headed to our Villas - the place we stay is such a beautiful hidden gem 💎 and the people on the property are so welcoming and accommodating. Once we got to the villas, a couple of the leaders went to the grocery store while we stayed back and watched the kids play at the pool.
The boys spent about 45 minutes trying to complete a football tossing challenge, and finally, with the perfect combination, they were successful!
There is a beach about 5 minutes up the street where we headed after the boys + Brooklyn completed their challenge! At the beach, MaryGrace took the kids through some evening team activities, and Jake found herself talking to a chef who goes to the beach on the weekends and cooks 🦞 Mac n’ cheese, 🐓 Mac n’ cheese, conch fritters, and 🍓 cake, in which he then gave us some to try. That will be our snack for the next few days.
The kids did a couple of activities at the beach and ended the evening on the beach with a prayer and the group singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kollynns!
Back at the Villas, we had pizza for a late dinner, two kids led us in our evening devo, and ended the night with an ice cream cake, candles, and another Happy Birthday song to celebrate!
Our word to describe how we were feeling about the week:
Peaceful • Ready • Excited • Anticipation • Anxious, Hopeful
Many prayers as this groups of 14 kids, 2 college leaders, 1 elementary school kid, and 4 adult leaders spread our love on this really special island! 🏝️
See you tomorrow!

BAHAMAS 🇧🇸 MAY 2026 | Day 2
May 24, 2026
Today was full of worship, serving in the kids ministry, live music, and l-inner (lunch that turned into an early dinner), cave exploring, a beach visit with a 🌈, pool time for a cookout for actual dinner, and more team building before we closed out the night with devo and Bible study together in our villas.
We love worshiping at the Bahamas Harvest Church, where we have been before, AND THIS TIME we not only worshipped in one service, we all got to serve in their kids' ministry during another service!
Studio Cafe is the place we always eat after church, and we had chicken n waffles, pancakes, Eggs Benedict with salmon, chicken strips with fries, and conch stew, while listening to live music!
After “l-inner” we headed to the beach, and before we crossed the street to the beach, Mr. Ron took us to the caves… where there were 🦇!
We then crossed the street to the beach, where God showed up BIG. While a group of our crew was in the ocean, a couple of ladies came over and asked where we were from and what we were doing in the Bahamas! Ryan then found out that one of the ladies is the one who co-founded Lend-A-Hand (an organization we have and will serve during our time here), and then a small shower came for a quick second, creating a rainbow 🌈. #Godwink
The Villa staff cooked dinner for us so we showed up to the pool, played dominoes with MJ and Mr. Ron, ate cheeseburgers and hot dogs, drank Goombay Punch, watched the kids play the toothpick game in the pool, and hung out before we ended the night together with a devo and started our Bible Study Series for the trip - MOTIVATION!

Bahamas 🇧🇸 | Day 3
May 25, 2026
We jumped right into serving today and had a little fun, too!
Our first stop was the senior center, where we met the homeowner and learned her story. She once worked for the government in printing and worked with the Prime Minister until one day God told her she needed to open a home for seniors… and she did exactly that. She converted her 3-bedroom house into a senior home and added to the back to not only serve seniors in need but also to serve her staff who also live there with her! We talked to the seniors, sang, passed out fruit, read scripture, and talked about their lives. Ryan decided to break out his magic tricks and had the workers giggling 🤭. It was so great to see the smiles and the joy that filled the home.
As we were wrapping up, we snuck out to get the center lunch at KFC, to not only bless the seniors but to bless the workers so they didn’t have to cook lunch. We also grabbed some cake so they could have a sweet treat after lunch. 🍰
We then went to serve at a children’s home and played with kids ages 4 to 13. We made bracelets, colored pictures, blew bubbles, played bouncy ball, basketball, and volleyball, played hide-and-seek, ran races, and so much more. The smiles on the kids' faces were our favorites, and the way they were willing to help with whatever was asked. It is hard to leave kids you start building relationships with, but it is worth it to spread the love of Jesus wherever He puts us!
We ended the day at the straw market for souvenirs, ice cream, coffee, cake, scissors, hair braids, and designer sunglasses!
We ended the night at one of our favorite restaurants - Green Parrot 🦜
God is good… All the time!

Bahamas 🇧🇸 | Day 4 | May 26, 2026
Today we made our way into a new part of the island and a new neighborhood - MARATHON. The people who run Urban Renewal were a joy to meet and go door to door in the community to check on the neighbors, which is something this organization does throughout the Bahamas in different areas each week. Another stop we made was to an English Language Learning Primary School (what we call elementary school). We walked in and connected with the kids and teachers. It was fun to see what they were learning in each classroom!
We continued on our walk in the neighborhood and stopped at Mrs. Pat’s Senior Home, where we got a tour of the facilities and ate a berry off of a tree… where Mr. Ron said: “It’s just nature!”
After we were finished with the door-to-door visits, we jumped back in the bus and went back to the Villas for lunch!
Once we filled our bellies with sandwiches, we headed out to the older children’s home, where we organized the closet and painted a wall white to prep it for a new mural, while the kids were in school. After the work was done at the children’s home, the group then headed to one of our most favorite and special places on the island, @lendahandbahamas
“Where there is Joy , there is God! “- MaryGrace
The most joy our ardent show is when we are about to get off the bus to see the kids at Lend-A-Hand. They played until it was time for everyone to go home for the night!
Another Full Day tomorrow before we head back to the States.
