Yes, there is a drink vending machine on the 2nd floor West Wing, under the staircase. It has bottled water, soft drinks, and energy drinks. You may use cash or credit/debit cards.
The elevator is unlocked when the library opens and locks when the library closes.
Yes! Donated items of academic value which are not already found in the library may be added to our collection. Other gifts may be placed in our annual book sale or donated to another organization.
Faculty or staff may check out periodicals. Students may not check out newspapers, magazines, or journals. However, students may scan articles into their emails at the Reference Desk.
Beaman Library has two collections of Bibles. The University Bible Collection contains various translations and may only be used in the library. The University General Collection offers several Bibles that you may check out. The call numbers are BS 180.
Unfortunately, no. Although the library used to offer this service, it is no longer available. The university post office has a fax machine.
Yes! If you live on campus, you are considered a temporary resident of Davidson County. Take your Lipscomb ID to any NPL location when applying for a NPL card. Then you can check out books from any NPL location or stream music, movies, and other online resources.
Yes! You can pay your fine online using our TouchNet payment service. See instructions here.
Yes! Children's books and young adult literature are found in the Buffington Collection on the 3rd floor East Wing close to front windows. Lipscomb University faculty, staff, and students also have access to books in the high school, middle school, and elementary libraries by going directly to that library with your Lipscomb ID during school hours.
The databases listed below are not compatible with our current search bar. Information and access change quickly and often. We will update this list as more databases are able to be searched using the main search bar. Until they are available, if you want to find articles from these databases, you will need to use the A-Z Databases list and search the database directly.
Yes! The library has 25 Chromebooks along with other technology items that can be checked out by faculty, staff, and students for one week at a time.
Currently enrolled students have a semester print quota of $30 or 600 black and white copies which begins on the 1st day of classes and ends on the last day of exams. For each b/w copy, 5¢ is deducted and for each color copy, 50¢ is deducted from your balance. You may check your print quota at https://printing.lipscomb.edu. Additionally, you may add more print quota which will be billed to your Lipscomb account by visiting the IT Help Desk or emailing ithelpdesk [at] lipscomb.edu.
Go to printing.lipscomb.edu, log in, choose Web Print from the list on the left, follow the prompts, and print!
The three library printers are:
- library-lab-rjy1
- library-lab-rjy2
- library color
There are 3 printers that you can use in Beaman Library. Two (library-lab-rjy1 and library-color) are located on the main floor by the computer station. The third (library-lab-rjy2) is located on the third floor to the right of Archives and Special Collections. Library-lab-rjy1 and library-lab-rjy2 are both black and white printers. Library-color is the only color printer on campus that is readily available for students.
Yes! Beaman Library offers one student color printer (p-Library-Color) which is located in the 2nd Floor West Wing. Color printing is 50 cents a page. Color printing is included in your print quota. If you do not have a print quota but would like to print, see the Reference Librarian who can help you print in black/white or color for a fee.
Yes, there is a scanner available in the Reference Office. Items can be scanned to an email address, free of charge. Please ask the staff member on duty at the Reference Desk for assistance. All library faculty and staff reserve the right to refuse a scanning job if it is in violation of copyright or library policies.
