Biography
Jonathan Miller's career in higher education began at Lipscomb University where he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1998. From there, he received his master’s degree in clinical psychology from Abilene Christian University in 2000. Lastly, he earned a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience with a minor in quantitative methods at Bowling Green State University in 2005. Following his doctoral studies, Miller completed thirteen years of service as a faculty member at Ohio Valley University where he was the Chair of the School of Behavioral Sciences while also serving the university in a variety of support roles including as faculty athletic representative, accreditation liaison officer, and primary faculty sponsor for two student honor societies (Alpha Chi & Psi Chi).
Following his time at OVU, Miller joined the faculty at Oklahoma Christian University in the fall of 2019. During his four years at OC, he served as an assistant faculty sponsor for OC’s Psychology Club, Psi Chi and as a member of OC's institutional review board. In 2023, Miller retuned to Lipscomb University joining the faculty in the Department of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Studies.
Miller's doctoral research projects primarily explored neurobiological age-related changes in circadian rhythms also well the neurobiology of short-interval time. More recently, Miller has explored topics related to the psychology of religion and problematic mobile phone use. Miller also engages students in developing and pursuing their own research interests.
