Program Overview
Grow your leadership skills in education.
Lipscomb University’s online bachelor’s (B.S.) or bachelor of professional studies (BPS) degree in Organizational Leadership prepares working professionals and aspiring leaders to excel in today’s fast-paced, people-centered workplaces. This flexible, fully online program allows you to earn a degree wherever you are, while maintaining the benefits of a connected program based in Nashville.
The Organizational Leadership curriculum is built to equip you with practical, transferable leadership skills you can apply immediately. Courses focus on key competencies like communication, problem-solving, and influence—developed through applied, real-world learning. All students complete a comprehensive Leadership Core. Then, you can choose to pursue an Education Studies concentration or a customized concentration pathway in business, healthcare, hospitality or nonprofit leadership. This allows you to tailor the degree to your career goals, and the capstone ensures you graduate ready to lead with purpose and confidence.
Through personalized support and real-world application, you will learn to lead with confidence, clarity, and purpose. Whether advancing in your current role or preparing for a new opportunity, this degree empowers you to lead at any level and make meaningful contributions in any organization.
Students pursuing an Education Studies Concentration align their skills and experience for next steps. This is beneficial for individuals who aspire to complete their undergraduate degree and be equipped to complete a content area Praxis exam and achieve licensure. Already-licensed professionals will be ready to step into leadership roles and push forward into new terrain in their career.
Students may tailor their degree with an Organizational Leadership Customizable Concentration—a set of 18 credit hours in business, healthcare, hospitality or nonprofit leadership. At least nine of these hours must be distinct, ensuring students deepen their expertise in a focused domain while meeting degree requirements.
Students in this program will graduate with necessary skills to thrive in diverse leadership roles.
These skills include:
- Practical Leadership Skills – Build core competencies in communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and influence.
- Immediate Application – Apply what you learn directly to your current role.
- Customizable Concentration – Tailor your degree to align with your career goals.
- Capstone Project – Demonstrate leadership in a real-world setting.
- Flexible Online Format – Learn on your schedule with support from faculty and success coaches.
- Career Readiness – Graduate prepared to lead teams and advance professionally.
This is a non-licensure program, but an undergraduate degree will make you eligible to pursue licensure.
The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership with an Education Studies emphasis will equip you with high-quality skills to achieve your career aspirations and goals, establishing you as a well-rounded professional.
