The Data Analytics certificate will help you upskill or pivot to this growing industry.

 

Earn your Data Analytics certificate as a standalone certificate or complete it alongside your MBA. Students who complete the Data Analytics certificate in addition to the MBA program will earn a STEM MBA.

The completed application requirements for the Data Analytics Certification program:

  1. Your submitted online application and fee
  2. Resume
    • This formal document highlights your professional experiences, educational background, and relevant skills/certificates to earning a graduate degree at Lipscomb. If you have less than three years of work experience, please include service and volunteer opportunities within your professional experiences.  Resumes are typically one page long.
  3. Personal Statement
    • This formal document highlights what you bring to the program and serves as a professional writing sample. The personal statement is one tool that will be used to evaluate your writing proficiency in addition to helping us gain specific insight into your personal drive, motivation, and goals. The personal statements are generally 500-650 words in length.
  4. Transcripts from your undergraduate program (and graduate, if applicable)
    • Have electronic copies emailed directly from your undergraduate institution to gradadmissions [at] lipscomb.edu (gradadmissions[at]lipscomb[dot]edu)

  5. Two Professional Recommendations
    • An email will be sent to your recommenders with instructions on completing the process. The two letters of recommendations should be written by people who know you well in either a professional work or academic environment and can speak to your ability to succeed in a rigorous graduate program. If possible, we encourage you to request one letter of recommendation from a workplace supervisor. 
  6. Writing Sample
    • The writing sample should demonstrate clarity of thinking, reasoning ability, logic, and strong writing and communication skills. Your sample should be an academic research paper or professional document that has been previously written and has been evaluated in an academic or professional setting. Previously published work may also be considered. This sample should not be something prepared for the sole purpose of admission to the program.
  7. Video Interview
    • Each applicant will engage in a video interview. The interview will be conducted either by the Program Director or a senior member of the faculty and will consist of behavioral-type questions. This will offer you an opportunity to share specific examples from your work experience.

      Additionally, you will be asked to complete a short case study as a critical thinking assessment.

Courses

The Data Analytics Certificate requires 18 hours for graduation. Completion time varies from 1-2 years.

If students decide to apply to the MBA program and are accepted, 12 hours of the Data Analytics
Certificate can be transferred into the MBA program.

Tuition

Tuition

For students completing the certificate only tuition is $700 per credit hours ($12,600 for certificate). If the student is taking the Data Analytics courses as part of Lipscomb's MBA program tuition for the first 12 hours is the standard MBA tuition per hour; the remaining 6 hours are discounted to $700 per credit hour.

Online Learning Model

This certificate meets online and will offer optional virtual working sessions.The online format provides you the flexibility you need to balance school, work and life while the optional working sessions allow you to interact with faculty and peers to delve deeper and better grasp difficult concepts.
