Summer Celebration returns to the Lipscomb University campus July 4-7, 2007. This year’s theme will be Messiah: The Astonishing Stories and Timeless Teachings of Jesus from Matthew. Summer Celebration keynote messages include God With Us by Randy Harris, When God Stepped In by Patrick Mead and Stranger Things Have Happened by Jody Vickery. There will be more than 130 inspiring and practical sessions for adults, as well as exciting programs for children and teenagers that include devotionals, classes, games, service projects and much more. Classes will be taught in Spanish daily with Spanish interpretation available for the keynote speakers. There’s something at Summer Celebration for the whole family.

After the evening keynote speakers on Thursday and Friday nights, several inspiring opportunities will be available for the whole family including Jerry Rushford’s A Preacher in the White House & George Washington to Howard Hughes and Lynn Anderson’s Longing for a Homeland: Seeking a Place to Belong. Steve Diggs’ popular and practical seminar dealing with personal and family finances will be just one of dozens of featured daily classes during Summer Celebration. Several dynamic sessions each day will be specifically designed for parents including Holly Allen’s What are the Spiritual Needs of Children? and Jason Pagel’s Deciphering Your Teenager.  Dennis Lowe and Emily Scott-Lowe will lead three practical, informative and fun sessions designed to help couples and families develop more satisfying and lasting relationships. James Vandiver and Rhonda Lowry will lead a two-day session at Longview on the subject of spiritual formation of spiritual adults. All the Way My Savior Leads Me will highlight our spiritual journey with senior adults and as senior adults.

As a special feature this year, Summer Celebration is teaming up with ACAFEST ’07, an international acappella singing festival, to bring together musical groups from all parts of the globe to celebrate the art and beauty of Christian acappella singing. In addition, each evening Keynote session will feature wonderful periods of congregational singing led by Jon Owen, Keith Lancaster and Ken Young. A number of dynamic singing groups will be highlighted during Summer Celebration including Acappella.

Be sure to bring friends and family on July 4th for faith, fun, food and fireworks. The evening begins with a family picnic at 4:30 p.m. which includes lots of games and activities for kids of all ages. Worship begins and 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by more live entertainment and fireworks.
