Summer Celebration offers spiritual activities for the entire family July 1-3

 |

"Rivers of Living Water: The Savior and the Spirit in John's Gospel" is the theme of Summer Celebration 2009, set for July 1-3 on the Lipscomb University campus.

The free, three-day lecture series features keynote speakers Buddy Bell, Mike Cope, Rich Little, Rubel Shelly, James Waugh and John York. In addition, more than 100 inspiring and practical sessions led by dynamic speakers from across the country including Lynn Anderson, Randy Harris, Rhonda Lowry, Cassandra Martin and Patrick Mead will be offered.

Attendees will find free classes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., exploring many topics such as church leadership, the gospel and culture, marriage and family, pastoral care, spiritual formation, Restoration history, the Word and worship and much more. Participants can also enjoy a one-act play by Oracle Productions, and numerous free concerts by a cappella groups such as Hallal, the Overland Park Singers, New Image, Vocal Union and Acappella.

Summer Celebration isn’t just for adults. Fun children and teen activities such as devotionals, classes, games and service projects will keep the kids busy during the day.

All sessions are free and open to the public, although dinners and special events may require admission fees. For those traveling to Nashville for Summer Celebration, Lipscomb is offering on-campus housing and several local hotels are offering discounted rates to participants.
