Davis honored with Barbara McAndrew Herald Award

Dr. Roger L. Davis, dean of the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, was recently recognized by the Tennessee Pharmacists Association with the 2017 Barbara McAndrew Herald Award for his work to actively promote the profession of pharmacy and the ideals of pharmacist-provided care to student pharmacists, the public, the business community, government and other health care providers.

For nearly 30 years, Davis served as the associate executive director of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and served concurrently on the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy faculty. In these positions, he served as a member of several state public health advisory boards, as well as the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee of the State of Tennessee Medicaid program. He also served for over a decade as a member of the Board of Directors and president of Pharmaceutical Care Innovations Inc.

Davis was named the founding dean for the Lipscomb College of Pharmacy in 2007 and served on the Lipscomb Board of Trustees for seven years prior to being appointed dean. Davis led the College of Pharmacy successfully through achieving full accreditation status with the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education. Most importantly, aside from his many professional achievements academically and on behalf of TPA, Davis is a devoted husband, father and mentor.

The Barbara McAndrew Herald Award is supported by Germantown, Tennessee, pharmacist Paula Bailey Hinson and sponsored by the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.
