NewsChannel5 Reporter Ben Hall featured guest at Media Masters March 27

Lipscomb University’s Department of Communication and Journalism presents NewsChannel5 Emmy award-winning reporter Ben Hall, to speak at its spring Media Masters event on Tuesday, March 27 at 5 p.m. in Room 301 of Lipscomb’s Ezell Center.

Hall_Ben_1A veteran reporter at Nashville CBS affiliate, NewsChannel 5, Hall has covered the Tennessee state legislature, presidential campaigns and is currently part of NewsChannel5's award-winning investigative unit.

He has been the recipient of eight regional Emmy Awards for a wide variety of stories that included an assignment that involved traveling to Africa in order to cover a Nashville church that set up an orphanage to help children whose parents died of AIDS.

His work has been nationally recognized with the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award, an award that recognizes individual achievement and meritorious public service by television and radio stations, networks, producing organizations and the World Wide Web.

Hall is the recipient of three National Headliner Awards for his work on environmental reporting; and his stories on the political power of the coal industry in the Tennessee State Legislature earned him the Associated Press Award for Enterprise Reporting.

A question-and-answer session will occur immediately following Hall’s presentation. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with any questions regarding journalism, writing and news reporting for Hall to answer.

Admission to Media Masters is free and pizza will be provided.
