Media Masters Speaker Series opens 2018-19 season with David Fox

On Monday, Sept. 17, the Department of Communication and Journalism hosts public relations veteran David Fox as the first speaker in the 2018-19 Media Masters Series.
The event will be held at 5 p.m. in Lipscomb’s Ezell Center, Room 301. Admission is free and pizza will be provided.
Fox is the managing partner for MP&F Strategic Communications in Nashville. Before joining MP&F Strategic Communication as a partner in 1990, Fox began his career working at The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal as a journalist, covering politics for the Nashville Banner and United Press International. Since then he has worked as a political campaign operative and public relations executive, working with clients in a variety of fields including health care and government.
Along with authoring several magazine articles and three published, nonfiction books, Fox has managed many memorable moments for his clients. He coordinated a positive interview for one client with Mike Wallace of “60 Minutes” and managed a national campaign for another that culminated with a press conference at the National Press Club, resulting in national coverage and a Page 1 article in USA Today. He also worked on a feature story about a Mississippi blues band with “Good Morning America.”
A native of Memphis, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with an English degree in 1972.
