Lowry to share internationally recognized negotiation skills at Summer Executive Series

World-renowned negotiation expert, author, educator and Lipscomb University president Dr. L. Randolph Lowry will present Business Negotiation in a Turbulent Environment, Tuesday, Aug. 4,as the third installment of the Lipscomb University School of Executive Education’s Summer Executive Series.
 
Lowry has taught negotiation at leading universities on six continents, authored a widely used academic text on negotiation and founded the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, the number one ranked dispute resolution program in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report.
 
Business Negotiation in a Turbulent Environment isa highly interactive professional development experience designed to help business leaders identify critical moments in negotiation and learn how to strategically manage the negotiation process. Lowry has presented similar versions of this program to over 50,000 business professionals at corporations such as Nike, Chevron/Texaco, John Deere and LexisNexis.
 
The workshop will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Ezell Center on the Lipscomb University campus. Participants will be involved in exercises and simulations throughout the day.
 
This all-day workshop will also include a panel of three of Nashville's most accomplished negotiators:
  • Steve Groom, vice president and deputy general counsel of Corrections Corporation of America
  • Tony Giarratana, president of Giarratana Development Inc.
  • Janet Miller, chief economic development and marketing officer of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce
Many topics will be covered in the workshop such as:
  • Understanding the dynamics of negotiation
  • Learning how to develop and employ a strategy for each negotiation
  • Becoming more proficient in the management and control of the negotiation process
  • Increasing confidence in negotiation skills
