Lipscomb University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of Financial Aid are partnering to offer FAFSA Day on Saturday, Nov. 3.

FAFSA Day is a free resource for families who have students in college or who will be starting college soon or for college students who need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Burton Health Sciences Center (third floor) on the Lipscomb campus. This event is offered without an appointment on a first-come, first-served basis. FAFSA Day is open to the public.

Computers will be available at FAFSA Day for individuals to use to fill out the form online. The public may also bring their own laptops. Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to help answer questions and to help walk participants through the online process.

“There are a number of forms and applications that incoming and current college students have to complete to make sure that not only are they accepted for admission and registered for classes, but also to have access to scholarships and financial aid. The process can often feel overwhelming,” said Reggie Blair, senior director of admissions at Lipscomb University. “FAFSA Day is designed to be a resource to families and to alleviate some of the stress or anxiety they may be feeling. Everyone is welcome to come to FAFSA Day regardless of where they or their student attends college.”

To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans, college students must complete the FAFSA each year they are enrolled in college. The FAFSA opens on Oct. 1 each year. Completing and submitting the FAFSA gives students access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. In addition, many states and colleges use a student’s FAFSA information to determine eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use FAFSA information to determine whether students qualify for their aid.

The Lipscomb University Office of Admissions will also be offering campus tours on FAFSA Day for prospective students. Tours are scheduled for 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Click here to make reservations for the campus tour.
