Lipscomb awards edScholar scholarships

Two middle Tennessee residents have been chosen to receive edScholar Scholarships at Lipscomb University for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Ashley Kathryn Martin from Hendersonville and Sadie Jo Coffer from Brentwood will receive the $6,250 annual scholarships, sponsored jointly by edSouth and edAmerica.

edScholar is a program designed to recognize and reward outstanding students who seek a post-secondary education in Tennessee. To qualify, students must have at least a 3.25 grade point average and a composite score of 23 on the ACT or 1070 on the SAT, and have financial need and a record of outstanding community service and leadership. Applicants must also submit a 250-word essay and two letters of recommendation.
