Lipscomb athletics hosts Latino Heritage Night at Dec. 1 Bison basketball game

Lipscomb University’s athletics program, In conjunction with the university’s Futuro organization, will host its inaugural Latino Heritage Night Dec. 1 at the men’s basketball game against Tennessee Tech at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Arena.

“It is our hope to bring some added awareness to a vibrant Latino community here in Nashville and around the midstate,” said Garner Goode, assistant athletic director for marketing and sales. “We look forward to this opportunity to engage the community. It will be a fun night for everyone.”

Members of the Tennessee Latin America Chamber of Commerce (TLAC), the League of Latino American Citizens (LULAC) and the YMCA Latino Achievers as well as Latin American groups from a number of local high schools will be in attendance.

Members of the Lipscomb Futuro organization at each entrance to the arena greeting guests. Futuro is a national professional membership organization to provide college students with structured, career-specific development to help navigate the pathway from college to career. It is an inclusive group primarily for Latino college students or students interested in Latino culture.
