Lighting of the Green to be held in Allen Arena, concert and all activities FREE

All Lighting of the Green festivities will take place inside Allen Arena. Concert and activities are FREE.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a gift of canned food or cash for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
 
Lipscomb University kicks-off the holiday season tomorrow night with an all-star line-up of artists at the seventh annual Lighting of the Green concert.
 
Nashville’s own Amy Grant hosts the free outdoor holiday concert. This year’s performance will also feature Jenny Gill; Melinda Doolittle, of American Idol fame; Point of Grace; Opera singer Amanda McCaslin and accompanist Jim Dausch; Sterling Gittens; Gene Miller; the Lipscomb University brass quintet; and the Lipscomb student choruses.
 
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. in Allen Arena on the Lipscomb campus. Food is also available for purchase at the Bennett Center’s Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s Pizza, Blue Coast Burrito, Bison Café, Arlos and Starbucks. The event will also include FREE pictures with Santa and Merry Marketplace, a collection of holiday vendors with a portion of the purchases benefiting scholarships to Lipscomb. Pictures with Santa and the Marketplace will take place in the Allen Arena beginning at 4 p.m.
 
Attendees are encouraged to bring a gift of canned food or cash for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Guests are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the concert. Handicapped parking will be available in the Allen Arena parking garage.
