Actor/Comedian Bill Cosby will perform at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena April 30 at 8 p.m.
The event is a Minnie Pearl Comedy Tribute with all proceeds going to benefit The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.
"We are excited to have Bill Cosby coming and it looks like it will be a sellout crowd," said Patrick Clemons, executive director of The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.
The evening with Cosby is designed to honor the memory of Sarah Cannon, creator of the beloved character "Minnie Pearl" and first woman inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The evening is also designed to expose the community at large to the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation's mission, Clemons said.
"When you think of Minnie Pearl, you think of good, wholesome comedy," Clemons said. "We chose Bill Cosby because he has just that."
The Minnie Pearl Comedy Tribute is presented by Tri Star Health System and is sponsored by American Airlines, Clear Channel Radio, Lipscomb University and News2.
