During Quest Week a crime took place in the Library - could you have solved it?

Author: Walker Cheatham

"Dear Detective,

Thank you so much for agreeing to help the library solve this case.  Because Campus Security is busy checking on a fire alarm at High Rise, we need your help to investigate a death before all of the clues disappear.

Lipscomb Student Beatrice has fallen to her death from the 3rd floor staircase  under mysterious circumstances.  She was working on a paper for her Shakespeare class at the library. There are five students involved in this case who are suspected in Beatrice’s death..."

This is an excerpt from a letter over a 150 students and aspiring detective received about a case they need to solve. On August 15, the Beaman Library hosted a Quest Week event called Whodunnit? A Murder Mystery in the Library.

This event has become an annual tradition at the library for our incoming freshmen and new students and has been a pretty popular event. Students were asked to solve a mystery in the library using newly developed information literacy skills.

They went to several different areas in the library to piece together the clues to solve a grisly murder.

Several students described it as very fun and creative while others were just worried that there was a killer wandering around Lipscomb’s campus!
