Biography

Samuel Litt serves as Assistant Professor of Music, Director of Athletic Bands and Instrumental Studies at Lipscomb University. Prior to his appointment at Lipscomb, Sam served as the Pep Band Director at Valparaiso University and taught public school in Scottsdale, Arizona where he was Director of Bands at Saguaro High School. His bands received top awards at state and national concert band festivals.

Prior to his teaching career, Sam completed his studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During his graduate degree, he served as an athletic bands teaching assistant working with the Marching Illini, Illini basketball bands, and served as Interim Director of the Volleyball Band.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology and a Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has taught beginning band, middle school band and orchestra, and high school band. He studied trumpet with Ronald Romm and Charles Daval, and participated in wind bands conducted by Barry Houser, Dr. Elizabeth Peterson, and Dr. Stephen Peterson.
