Biography

Casey McGinty joined the Lipscomb Music Industry Studies department in August 2024 soon after retiring from a successful thirty-three-year career in music publishing. Now in a purpose-driven season of life, he aspires to promote inspired self-confidence and walking in one’s divinely designed fullness of life. He does this through teaching, leadership coaching, writing, and his daily interactions.

Casey wrote his first song at 15 and moved to Nashville in 1984 to get a Music Business degree from Belmont University and pursue a career as a songwriter. This led to his entry into music publishing, working with songwriters, where he found a gift for bridging the gap between creatives and corporate resources. Rising from an entry-level position, he learned the music publishing business from mentors at Benson Music Publishing, Buddy Killen Music, and Capitol Christian Music Group, where he spent almost thirty years, the last nine of which he led the CCMG Publishing division.

He was honored to have been a part of the launch of WorshipTogether.com and Worship Together conferences, co-creating progressive licensing solutions with CCLI and a myriad of innovative music product creators, supporting the hopes and dreams of remarkable songwriters, and watching in awe as some of the most impactful songs in Christian music made their way around the world.
