Biography

Dannie Russo Woods, originally from Rockledge, Florida earned her bachelor's degree from Lipscomb in Fashion Merchandising and went on to work in Student Affairs at Mississippi College. While there she earned her M.ED in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs from Abilene Christian University and a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation. She also has a graduate certificate in Strengths Approaches to Higher Education Leadership and Student Success from Azusa Pacific University, which helps her to utilize the Strengths Finder approach to student development. Because of her own experiences as a student at Lipscomb, she is passionate about developing student leaders and helping students to navigate the many seasons they walk through during their time in college. Woods currently serves as the Dean of Student Wellbeing where the focus is on students starting well and staying well during their time at Lipscomb. This includes working with New Student Orientation, Campus Recreation and Wellness, Behavioral Intervention and Care Team and serving the sexual minority population on campus. When not working with college students, Woods loves being active outdoors with her husband Jonathan (Lipscomb Academy 2007, Lipscomb University 2011) and her two boys Levi and Milo.
