Biography
Jeff Todd is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Biology, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Lipscomb University. He receives his bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in Biology from Lipscomb University. He attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and received his medical degree (M.D.). Residency training was completed at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton Family Medicine Residency Program. He served as Chief Resident of the program from 2003-2004. After completing residency in 2004, Jeff moved to Woodbury, TN with his wife, Paula, and have practiced medicine together since that time. Jeff has worked in an outpatient clinic at Woodbury Medical Center, as an emergency department physician and hospitalist at Ascension St. Thomas Stones River Hospital, and as a nursing home physician at Woodbury Health and Rehab.
Jeff continues to be active in medical practice in Woodbury. He has served as a clinical preceptor for the Lipscomb University Physician Assistant program since 2020. He began teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology to undergraduate students in the Biology Department at Lipscomb in 2022. Jeff also enjoys having undergraduate students shadow him in his outpatient clinic.
Jeff is excited to teach and hopes to guide students to a better understanding of our human body and how our bodies function as created image-bearers of our God. Through the knowledge gained in these courses, the goal is to equip and inspire students to become servants of our neighbors and community in any Biology-related profession including the various healthcare fields.
