Biography

Claire is a native of Arkansas and graduated with highest honors from Harding University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration.

Always interested in law and politics, Claire moved to Nashville in 2004 to attend Vanderbilt Law School, where she earned the 2005 Public Interest Award. During her time at Vanderbilt, she was selected for the U.S. Department of Justice Summer Law Intern Program and worked in the Civil Rights Division, Fair Housing Section, in Washington, D.C.

After graduating from law school, Claire joined the law firm Starne, O’Toole, Marcus, and Fisher, where she practiced corporate law. She also worked in the legal research departments of the Hawaii House of Representatives and the Tennessee General Assembly.

After the birth of her first child in 2012, Claire joined the Lipscomb University faculty so she could spend more time raising her children. Throughout her tenure, she has taught Legal Aspects of Business and Business Values and served as the sponsor for the Student Center for the Public Trust. Her favorite part of teaching is getting to know her students and building lasting relationships with them.

Claire is a Blackstone Fellow with the Alliance Defending Freedom and is passionate about protecting religious liberty for both individuals and businesses.

Outside of her professional life, Claire enjoys participating in all kinds of sports and has completed three marathons. When she is not homeschooling her two children, you can probably find her taking an impulsive road trip to the beach or embarking on a last-minute getaway to Disney World.
