Biography
Dr. Matia Pryor Graves is an experienced educator who has held a wide range of leadership and teaching positions during her 15 years of experience in the field of education. Matia comes to LU from the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. Her primary areas of interest are Special Education, culture and diversity, inclusion, co-teaching and literacy; however, she has passion for all areas in the field of Education. Matia is certified in the areas of Special Education ,Reading and administrative leadership. Dr. Pryor Graves holds an undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University, a Masters from Lipscomb University, along with an Educational Specialist degree and Doctoral degree in Leadership and Professional Practices both from Trevecca Nazarene University. Dr. Pryor Graves is a native Memphian. She and her educator husband Ariel reside in the great city of Nashville along with their three wonderful blessings Bishop, Blane and Brock. Dr. Pryor Graves enjoys documentaries, jazz, reading, cooking, traveling, and both HBCU and SEC sports, along with advancing the greater Nashville community through her beloved service organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
