Special Counsel to the President on Strategy
Biography
Dr. Hope Nordstrom serves as special counsel to the president for strategy at Lipscomb and leads the Office of Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement. Nordstrom also serves as the co-executive director for the Center for Vocational Discovery. In her executive leadership role, she maintains the monitoring and reporting process for the Lipscomb Impact 360 strategic plan, leads the institutional data team, provides training for supervisors on the performance review process, and organizes the GROW Lipscomb leadership development program.
Nordstrom previously served as director of the Center for Teaching & Learning at Lipscomb. As director, she provided administrative oversight and was directly involved in all center programming in order to bolster faculty teaching focused on student success. Nordstrom has worked in the College of Professional Studies as the director of curriculum and instruction building out over 200 online competency-based courses and previously was the lead faculty for the Technology Integration master’s program in the College of Education.
Dr. Nordstrom maintains a faculty appointment as a professor of strategic leadership within the College of Leadership and Public Service. She teaches courses in ethical leadership focusing on the virtues of character, leading and managing change, organizational leadership, and strategic communications. She also teaches a course on strategic planning and resource allocation in the Ph.D. in Leadership and Policy program.
Nordstrom has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tennessee Technological University and her Ed.D. from Trevecca Nazarene University, She has earned an Advanced Online Teaching Certificate from the Online Learning Consortium (OCL), is a certified OSCQR Scorecard trainer, and was selected to be a member of OLC’s Institute for Emerging Leaders in Online Learning (IELOL) 2020 cohort.
Nordstrom also provides leadership and strategic planning consulting to organizations in the Nashville area. She has delivered leadership development programs, implemented internal coaching and mentoring programs, coached 1:1 with leaders at varying levels, and designed onboarding programs. She has certifications as a leadership coach, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and Working Genius facilitator.
