Biography

Mike Meredith is a seasoned illustrator and educator with over two decades of experience in the creative industry. Currently serving as the Associate Professor and Program Chair for Animation & Game Art at Lipscomb University, Mike has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum and guiding students through the intricacies of digital illustration and new media.

With a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Mike combines his extensive academic background with practical experience as a freelance illustrator. His freelance career spans over 22 years, during which he has worked with notable clients such as Lifeway, United Methodist Publishing, and Hasbro, providing illustration services for web, print, editorial, and children’s markets.

In addition to his academic and freelance roles, Mike has also contributed as a freelance animator for Southwestern Advantage, creating storyboards, backgrounds, and animation assets. His expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, combined with his passion for illustration and animation, makes him a valuable mentor and resource for aspiring artists.

Mike’s dedication to education extends beyond Lipscomb University, having taught at Nossi College of Art and worked as an adjunct professor focusing on book publishing and illustration techniques. His teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning, encouraging students to explore various styles and techniques to develop their unique artistic voice.
