Biography
Lowery is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the state of Tennessee who gained her bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Lipscomb; she completed her dietetic internship at National HealthCorp; and earned a master’s in nutrition and food science, with an emphasis in hotel and restaurant management, from Auburn University. Lowery came to Lipscomb in 2009 as the assistant director of the dietetic internship program and promoted to director in 2010. Currently Lowery is an associate professor, directing the dietetic internship with concentration areas of medical nutrition therapy, health promotion and wellness, and sports nutrition. Professionally, Lowery has worked as the food service director for The Health Center at Richland Place, as a consultant dietitian at Providence Place of Mount Juliet and as a field specialist at EcoSure. Lowery was voted the Nashville District Dietetic Association’s 2012-2013 and 2017-18 Outstanding Dietetic Educator of the Year.
