Biography

Amber Kelley, PhD, is the Program Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program, where she also serves as core faculty. She holds a doctorate in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia, a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Lipscomb University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University. Amber is also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and practices as a marriage and family therapist, employing a trauma-informed integration of Restoration and Narrative therapies. Her primary area of research and clinical interest is a social justice-oriented treatment of trauma and traumatic stress including evidence-based PTSD treatments, and the experience of therapists providing care to trauma-affected populations.
