Biography
Brandi Bingham Kellett earned a B.A. in English and Classics from Wake Forest University, and an M.A and Ph.D. in American, Caribbean and Postcolonial Studies from the University of Miami in Coral Gables. Her areas of scholarship focus on culture, memory and faith as resistance to oppression in the African diaspora across the Americas. In her 13th year of teaching at Lipscomb University in the Department of English and Modern Languages, she has taught in the Honors College, the LIFE program, and in General Education. Dr. Kellett serves extensively in her community and with local non-profits, teaching and developing curricula in adult Bible Studies, Christian pursuits of equity and justice, embracing cultural diversity in communities of faith and extending educational access in Nashville. She became Chair of the Department in 2023, and serves as the Associate Chair for General Education and the QEP Director.
