Biography
Elrod (’77), assistant professor of physician assistant studies, holds a Master of Science in Medicine from Trevecca Nazarene University and is a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C). She has eight years of experience in computer science working to support aerospace testing for the United States Department of Defense and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. She has also taught secondary school mathematics and piano over a span of thirty five years. She has worked as a physician assistant for the past six years in family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine and internal medicine. She is passionate about healthcare for the poor and vulnerable, having worked in medical missions in Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, and Honduras, as well as in rural medicine in Beersheba Springs, Tenn.
