Biography

Prior to going to law school, Eckert worked in Washington, D.C. as a staffer for Oklahoma Representative J.C. Watts and Texas Senator Phil Gramm and then in the Philadelphia suburbs as the Assistant Men's Basketball and Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Eastern University.  He graduated from Vanderbilt Law School in 2006 after having been a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review.  He has worked at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings since September 2006 where he is a partner in the litigation group.  He specializes in business, healthcare and special education litigation.  Eckert has been an adjunct professor in the Department of Law, Justice & Society since January 2009 and, since that time, has taught a number of classes in the department, including Society and the Law, Influencing Change, Senior Research Project, and Sports Law.  In his spare time, Eckert loves playing tennis, watching Indiana Basketball and Notre Dame Football, working on the backyard Ninja obstacle course that he helped build for his children (and himself), and serving on the Board of Both Hands Foundation, an adoption fundraising non-profit.
