Biography
Brian Dudak has been a full-time English lecturer with Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) since 2018. He has also taught part-time for Lipscomb University since 2019. At MTSU, Brian teaches Grammar and Usage for Educators, the Experience of Literature, Research and Argumentative Writing, and Expository Writing. At Lipscomb, he primarily teaches Introduction to University Writing, and University Writing. In 2009, Brian graduated from The University of Memphis with a doctoral degree in Higher and Adult Education with a concentration in higher education administration. In addition, he has a master’s degree in English education from Harding University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harding as well. Brian served as an English Instructor for Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas and as a Dean of Instruction for Spokane Community College.
Brian’s research interests include teaching pedagogy and freshmen student experience. Brian co-wrote a textbook titled How to Become a Successful College Student: the Tools, Habits, and Skills Needed to Foster College Readiness. The textbook was published by Routledge and comes out November 2023. Brian has a wife and two kids. He loves the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. During the summer months, you can normally find Brian taking his kids to the pool and the lake.
