Gilberto Diaz Casanas
MS in Applied AI
Director of Applied Artificial Intelligence Graduate Program
Biography
Mr. Díaz Casañas, a Lipscomb alumnus, returns to the university as Director of the M.S. in Applied Artificial Intelligence program. He spent nearly a decade building production machine learning models, data pipelines, and software backend systems for clients including UBS, Banco Santander, Wells Fargo, HCA, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, and Toyota across the financial, healthcare, manufacturing, and marketing industries. He leads the MSAI program in preparing students as servant leaders who apply artificial intelligence to real problems in the marketplace. An unashamedly Christian Puerto Rican native, U.S. military veteran, husband, and father, he is committed to encouraging an ethical and responsible use of AI by actively using it in his teaching, research, and daily practice so his students learn from a director who is still building alongside them.
