Biography
Jennifer Detrick was born and raised in the Nashville area. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in the Spring of 2016 with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She graduated from Austin Peay State University in the fall of 2021 with her master’s degree in nursing with a focus in nursing education. Detrick’s clinical experience includes adult medical-surgical nursing at Maury Regional Medical Center, pediatric medical-surgical nursing at both Tristar Centennial Children’s Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and outpatient pediatric and adult internal medicine at Cool Springs Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Detrick obtained her pediatric nursing certification (CPN) in 2018 and currently serves on the pediatric nursing certification exam committee for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Detrick joined Lipscomb’s SON faculty in 2025. Prior to teaching at Lipscomb, she served as an adjunct clinical instructor for both Marian University and South College. Detrick enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, reading, and being involved in her church community.
