Biography
A third-generation Cuban-American, Laura Delgado has been working in the education field in Nashville for over 10 years, specializing in working with the Latino and immigrant communities of Nashville. Laura leads the Pionero Scholars program in the College of Education, which is a grow your own pipeline for Metro Nashville Public Schools graduates who want to become teachers. Laura works to recruit students from high school and runs programming to support Education majors during their college years. Laura also helps with programming on campus for students who are first in their family to attend college, or who are immigrants themselves. Laura and her husband Drew welcomed their first child, Sofia, into the world in May 2021.
