Biography

As a subject liaison, Jamie Beth Colvin provides support in the following areas:

  • Assists students who feel overwhelmed by helping them select a topic and create a research plan
  • Helps students locate hard-to-find sources, including articles and books
  • Supports faculty with literature reviews, journal selection, and guest lecturing

Miss Colvin brings over nine years of research and instruction experience to Lipscomb from Pepperdine University. As a librarian, she strives to better connect people to the information they seek; to that end, her research interests are information-seeking behavior, information literacy instruction, and usability. Additionally, she earned an instruction certification from the Association of College and Research Libraries' Immersion Program. She enjoys water sports, Pilates, traveling, and photography. Jamie Beth’s favorite part of her job is when someone comes into her office feeling overwhelmed and leaves feeling calm and confident, with a clear plan in place.
