Biography

Ashley Childers, DSW, MSW, MA, LCSW, is a Nashville native with more than 25 years of experience in the field of Social Work. For over 15 years, she has been a full-time educator, teaching both in-person and online at the master's and doctoral levels,  while also operating a private psychotherapy and life coaching practice in Nashville.

Dr. Childers currently volunteers with the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center and is in the process of expanding her professional portfolio to include mediation services.

She has served for several years as Chair of the Tennessee State Social Work Board and has provided clinical care and organizational leadership across a broad spectrum of service settings. Her career has encompassed leadership roles, clinical supervision, psychotherapy, coaching, and organizational consulting.

Dr. Childers holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Vermont, a Master's degree in Social Work from Simmons University, a Master's degree in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University, and a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her longstanding interest in law and conflict resolution has significantly shaped her clinical perspective, particularly her recognition of the shared theoretical foundations between conflict management, family systems theory, and clinical practice.

She resides in Nashville with her husband, whom she met in high school, their youngest son, and a neighborhood cat who chose them as family. Their two adult sons also live nearby in Nashville.
