Cody Cantabrana
MS in Applied AI
Lecturer
Biography
Cody Cantabrana is a Lecturer in Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with appointments in both the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the College of Engineering. He gained a PhD at the University of Glasgow (2022), where he was supervised by Gary Kemp and Stephan Leuenberger. His areas of expertise are metaphysics, philosophy of art, and the philosophy of artificial intelligence. At Lipscomb, Cody helps support the university’s applied AI efforts. In particular, he teaches and partners with faculty to integrate generative AI in ways that honors intellectual and moral virtues from a Christian vantagepoint. On the humanities side of things, Cody’s aim is consistent: sharpen critical reasoning and continually point to the transcendentals (the good, the true, and the beautiful) being ground in God. He and his wife Caitlyn have two boys.
