Transfer Scholarships
We have several unique scholarship options for transfer students to ensure that an excellent education is within financial reach, whether you’re coming from a community college or from another four-year university.
If you have enrolled full-time at another college or university for at least one full semester after high school, then we consider you a transfer student, which makes you eligible for our transfer scholarships based on your final cumulative college grade point average. Many of the transfer scholarships that we offer are stackable.
At the end of each semester you spend at Lipscomb, you’ll be eligible to renew the transfer scholarships you’ve been awarded as long as you still meet our criteria. Check below to see our scholarship options and GPA requirements for each.
Students who previously attended Lipscomb University are considered returning students and do not qualify for transfer scholarships. Additionally, students pursuing their second bachelor's degree at Lipscomb University are considered second-degree seeking students and do not qualify for transfer scholarships.
Lipscomb awards an annual scholarship to each transfer student who transfers 12 or more credit hours from another four-year university or community college. Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative transfer GPA and be enrolling full-time for each semester they receive the scholarship. This scholarship applies to fall and spring semesters and cannot be applied to summer classes.
Award
Scholarships range from $14,000 ($7,00 per semester) to $20,000 per year ($10,000 per semester) for the duration that the student is enrolled and remains eligible.
This scholarship is stackable with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, Community College Transfer Scholarship and the Tennessee HOPE scholarship. It cannot be combined with other Lipscomb institutional aid or the Transfer Trustee Scholarship. Children of Lipscomb employees are not eligible. This scholarship is for students seeking their first bachelor’s degree only.
Lipscomb University will award transfer students who are active members of Phi Theta Kappa or the National Society of Leadership and Success a $2,500 annual scholarship upon enrollment. Proof of Membership is required. Students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA at Lipscomb each semester for renewal. Children of Lipscomb employees are not eligible. The scholarship is for traditional incoming undergraduate transfer students seeking their first bachelor’s degree only. Current undergraduate students and students in our adult degree/online programs are ineligible.
The Transfer Trustee Scholarship Application deadline for Fall 2025 is March 1, 2025.
Lipscomb University will award eight full-tuition scholarships to students who transfer to Lipscomb from a community college.
A 3.5 cumulative GPA and 30+ transferable credit hours upon entry to Lipscomb University are required.
Transfer Trustee Scholarship
The Lipscomb Noyce Scholars Program provides scholarships to support talented STEM majors in their pursuit to become middle and high school math and science teachers. The goal of this program is to develop highly qualified STEM teachers who are committed to teaching in high-need school districts for a period of time upon graduation.
Noyce Scholars receive:
- Up to $16,500 per year in scholarships during their junior and senior years
- Professional development opportunities in STEM education and culturally responsive teaching
- Support for passing teaching licensure exams
- Mentoring throughout their training and during their first years of teaching
