Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) helps sustain the spirit and morale of students, serves as an advocate for the concerns of students and enhances the overall student experience.

Membership in SGA is open to all dedicated and responsible students who have a desire for involvement and a passion for representing their peers. SGA includes 4 executive officers and 28 senators Each class is represented by seven elected officials (their class president, vice president, coordinator and four at-large senators). These students are elected during the Spring of each academic year. The freshman class is represented by seven members of the Freshman Leadership Council (FLC) which is elected during the Fall semester.

Funding Proposals

Each year, the senate sets aside a portion of its budget to fund various students programs, events, and activities that occurring throughout the semester. Any student from an officially recognized campus group, club or organization may present a funding proposal before the senate. Each proposal takes place during one of the Monday evening senate meetings. Students clubs and organizations are encouraged to submit a proposal request as soon as possible to ensure there are funds remaining in the Senate budget.
