Lipscomb's Summer Scholars program is an eight-day experience emphasizing experiential learning in and outside the classroom. This highly competitive program is specially designed to give high-achieving rising seniors the opportunity to earn college credit hours while still in high school. Students selected to participate will complete real university coursework, explore Nashville and meet peers from across the country.

Not only do Summer Scholars visit all of Nashville's most famous attractions—they also get to experience Lipscomb's rich connections to Nashville's wealth of professional opportunities. During the evenings, you'll participate in activities on and off campus, such as go-karting downtown, sporting events and group devotionals.

Students accepted into Summer Scholars are guaranteed admission to Lipscomb University.

Three hours of college credit are awarded to all students who successfully complete the program. Courses are offered in various areas that could be used to satisfy a general education credit or a course within your specific degree plan. Credit earned during Summer Scholars is transferable to other colleges or universities, with that institution determining how to apply for the credit.

The following are previously offered courses:

  • ENT 2503: An Entrepreneur's Introduction to Business
  • PS 1113: Introduction to Psychology
  • LJS 2103: Society and the Law
  • ENGR 1003: Launch into Engineering
