Biography

Brian Yakaboski joined the Worship & Arts staff as adjunct faculty at Lipscomb in 2023. He has enjoyed teaching Songwriting and Arranging for Worship, directing Worship Ensembles as needed and offering private songwriting lessons. In addition to teaching at Lipscomb, Brian serves as the Pastor of Worship & Arts at Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, TN. He is grateful to be able to share 12 years of vocational ministry experience with the students at Lipscomb.

As a songwriter, Brian’s credits include “Unfailing Father” cut by Selah in 2017, “Christ Among Us” recorded for the Assemblies of God World Mission Board in 2022 and the forthcoming “In Jesus” recorded for The Church Will Sing / Word Records to be released early 2027.

Graduating from Belmont University in 2010 as a commercial voice major, Brian had the opportunity to have an emphasis in commercial songwriting. This emphasis gave him the chance to study songwriting with Tom Douglas and Ginny Owens. Their influence still impacts his songwriting today.

Brian lives in Spring Hill, TN with his wife, Christa, and their two sons. His boys love getting to stay up late to attend worship ensemble performances at Lipscomb. Together, Brian and Christa release music as For the Fatherless and make themselves available as artists and songwriters to serve beyond their local church.
