Biography

Rick DeJonge is a conductor, composer, educator, and arranger whose career spans higher education, film and television, and the professional concert stage. He serves as Assistant Professor of Film and Media Composition at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, he is Musical Director and Arranger for Broadway and Hallmark actress Ginna Claire Mason.

A graduate of the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at the University of Southern California, DeJonge holds a degree in Film Composition from USC, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. His diverse background has allowed him to build a unique career at the intersection of performance, education, and media composition.

In 2026, DeJonge's work was featured in a number of notable premieres and productions. He served as arranger and orchestrator for the Amazon Prime series Seeking Persephone; composed and conducted the score for the Lifetime Movie Network television film Secrets of the Matriarch; and premiered Lux Supra Montes, a work for wind ensemble commissioned by the Ambassadors of Music to honor the community of Crans-Montana in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. He also composed and conducted The Outlaw Anthem for brass quintet and wind ensemble, premiered by the Boston Brass and the American Band College Wind Ensemble in Ashland, Oregon.

Beyond the concert hall and recording studio, DeJonge has served as Music Arranger and Conductor for Disney's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Concert productions since 2013. He is also Director of Artist Relations and Strategic Partnerships for Conn Selmer, where he works closely with artists and educators throughout the music profession.

A sought-after guest conductor and clinician, DeJonge conducts honor bands and festival ensembles across the United States each year, inspiring young musicians through his passion for artistic excellence, collaboration, and the transformative power of music.
