From preschool through the upper school, our faculty has a passion for teaching and a deep commitment to inspiring students grow in knowledge and maturity. Our graduates get accepted into the best colleges in the nation and go on to pursue a variety of career paths that build on the strong foundation that began at Lipscomb Academy, where they love to learn, learn to love and live to serve.
The first few years of learning set the stage for the many years of learning to come. We believe these early years contribute to children’s development of many essential skills that support social competence and creative problem solving, as well as foster a love of learning that endures for a lifetime in an environment where young minds Seek, Explore, Experiment and Discover the world around them. The SEED School builds a strong foundation for the youngest minds from age two through kindergarten.
The earliest years in a child’s education are formative ones in which they will develop a lifelong love of learning. At the lower school children are learning how to learn. The innate curiosity of each child is the beginning of learning. We transform this curiosity into a passion for learning, creating independent and enthusiastic students. Our holistic approach to learning prepares students intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically through engaging learning opportunities that are interactive, creative, and hands-on.
Our faith and belief in God is an important part of our school and the way we teach. As young learners, that belief is an important part of how they learn. As students get older they are guided to develop their own faith and relationship with God.
Children actively participate in daily Bible activities, prayer, praise and service learning. In the fifth through eighth grades young learners develop roots as spiritual and character formation is the essence of our mission.
As a child’s educational journey leads to the upper school, students in grades 9 through 12 continue to explore, discover their passion and develop their faith while completing the foundation that will serve them throughout their life.
With this next educational phase, students develop leadership skills and have a unique opportunity to prepare for college by earning college credit through dual-enrollment classes on the campus of Lipscomb University, earning up to as much as a year of college credit by the time they graduate giving them a head-start on their college pursuits.
Finding your life’s passion is an important part of the learning process. But discovering a career path that inspires you is an important part of the learning process. The innovative IGNITE program engages upper school students in career path experiences including university and professional leaders. This one-year program takes learning outside the traditional classroom and ignites our students hopes and dreams.
