Academic Support

The Academic Support Program provides comprehensive academic resources, support, and services for students. The goals are for students to develop increased self-esteem, self-advocacy, and academic success by working with individual students to create a learning profile tailored to their academic strengths and goals. The Academic Support Program partners with students, families, and the school to ensure students are prepared to maximize their academic potential.

Equip Tutoring

Equip is an additional fee service that is provided at Lipscomb Academy. Equip services include, year-round, subject-matter tutoring, reading comprehension strategies, math skills development, memory and learning strategies, assessment, and feedback. Equip also offers group study sessions for midterm and year-end exams, as well as individual and group ACT STEM Preparation. Equip tutoring takes place before, during, and after school and in under some circumstances, in a virtual format. There is a $75 annual registration fee for these services. This fee covers administrative costs, resources, certification, and professional training for our staff. The cost per session of tutoring services, group study sessions, and ACT preparation vary. While not every student will require these fee-based services, every student could benefit from services offered by Equip.

Academic Accommodations

Lipscomb Academy is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for a fee through the Academic Support Program for students with learning differences who are otherwise qualified for admission. Accommodations are provided via Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The 504 Plan is a plan developed to ensure that a student who has a disability identified under the law receives accommodations that will ensure their academic success and access to the learning environment. Upon receipt of documentation, a collaborative meeting is scheduled between the student, parents, teachers, tutor(s), coordinator(s), and academic support director to determine student eligibility. If a student is deemed eligible, a plan is created that includes reasonable accommodations.
