BLC luncheon features Nissan's Jim Morton June 16

The Lipscomb University Business Leadership Council presents Jim Morton, senior vice president of administration and finance for Nissan North America, Inc., at its summer luncheon on Friday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Allen Arena, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.

Morton oversees all finance, legal, governmental affairs, human resources, business strategy, corporate communications, security, corporate aviation and audit for Nissan’s North American operations. Morton serves as President of the Nissan Foundation and is a member of the board of directors of Nissan North America, Inc., Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, and Nissan Canada, Inc. Morton reports directly to Carlos Ghosn, head of Nissan’s North American Management Committee and President and CEO of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML). As part of Nissan’s global organization, Morton has functional reporting responsibilities to Nissan’s world headquarters. In 2005, Morton was elected chairman of the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, an association of 14 automakers, original equipment suppliers and other automotive-related trade associations from around the world. Morton previously served as AIAM’s vice chairman and member of the executive committee. 
 
As an NNA senior vice president, Morton is a member of both the North American Management Committee (MC-NA) and the U.S. Management Committee (MC-US), the key decision-making bodies for Nissan in North America. Morton also serves on the boards of the following community organizations, the National Urban League and the Hollings Cancer Center Advisory Board at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to his current position, Morton held a variety of positions with Michelin North America, Inc. in the company’s communications, legal and government affairs departments. From 1976 to 1986, he served as Michelin’s assistant general counsel for the Manufacturing Division.
