1. Secure priority access to financial aid and scholarships.

Lipscomb University’s priority scholarship and application deadline was designed to help you maximize your financial aid. Students who apply by this date receive first consideration for merit scholarships and need-based aid. While you can still apply after Dec. 1, you'll be competing for fewer available funds. Additionally, some scholarships have early January deadlines, such as our full-tuition Trustee Scholarship. Applying by Dec. 1 ensures you have enough time to apply for additional scholarship opportunities.

2. Receive an expedited application review.

Why wait months for an admission decision when you could know sooner? At Lipscomb, we admit students on a rolling basis. So, the sooner you apply, the sooner you’ll receive a decision. That means less time spent anxiously checking your email and more time celebrating your admission and planning your next steps.

3. Gain immediate access to your admission counselor.

Early applicants get connected with their admission counselor right away, giving you a dedicated advocate who can answer questions, provide guidance, and help you navigate everything from the application process, financial aid and the transition to college life.

4. Secure your preferred housing.

Want to live in a particular residence hall or request a specific roommate pairing? Early applicants typically receive priority housing selection, giving you the best chance at your preferred living situation.

5. Demonstrate genuine interest.

Applying early sends a clear message: This school is one of my top choices. Admission committees notice this level of commitment, and it can work in your favor during the review process.

6. Reduce senior year stress.

Imagine being able to make your college decision by winter break of your senior year. While you will have time to make your final decision, applying early ensures you receive an admission decision with plenty of time to plan your next steps. Applying early also means you can enjoy the second half of senior year instead of constantly worrying about where you'll be next fall.

7. Don't let test scores hold you back.

Worried about your SAT or ACT scores? Here's the good news: You can apply early and submit test scores later. Many schools, including Lipscomb, also allow superscoring and will accept higher scores if you retake tests. Lastly, Lipscomb also offers test-optional admission. Don't let the pursuit of a perfect score prevent you from meeting priority deadlines.

8. Earn a spot in your program of interest.

Popular majors like business or nursing may fill quickly or require additional steps to get into these programs. Additionally, other programs, including animation, theatre and music, have audition and portfolio requirements. Applying early puts you ahead of other applicants and gives you time to complete any additional requirements for your program of interest.

9. Build your network sooner.

Find friends before you even step foot on campus! The earlier you're admitted, the sooner you can start connecting with classmates, professors and even alumni networks to build relationships that will enhance your college experience and benefit your career. At a close-knit institution like Lipscomb, these connections can be particularly valuable given the thriving business and music industries in Nashville.

10. Find peace of mind for the whole family.

Parents, this one's for you too! Early admission means earlier financial aid packages, more time to plan for college expenses, and the relief of knowing your student has secured their spot at a quality institution.

Why wait?

If you're a high achiever who's already identified schools that align with your values and goals, there's no reason to wait. Whether you're drawn to a Christ-centered education, a supportive campus community, or the opportunities that come with studying in a vibrant city like Nashville, applying early puts you in the driver's seat.
