Sport Analytics Master's (M.S.)


High Demand Skills for a Growing Industry

Lipscomb’s Master of Science in Sport Analytics degree program trains students for analytical positions in professional and collegiate sport, as well as other entertainment and sport-related careers. This fully online program aims to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage, analyze, visualize, and interpret data of those who are seeking these careers. Graduates will be equipped with the skills to excel in careers in professional and collegiate sports by working with sport marketing agencies, finance, media, and other sport and e-sport related industries.

This program’s curriculum is designed to give students a holistic view of the industry to examine how analytics can be utilized in sport marketing, sales, finance, contracts, and other competencies in the sport industry.

Andrew Mauldin

Andrew Mauldin

Assistant Professor

Andrew was born in northeast Ohio and has lived in many states over his lifetime. Andrew attended Harding University where he received his B.A. in Kinesiology. After graduating from Harding he attended the University of North Alabama and earned his M.S. in Health and Human Performance. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Middle Tennessee State University where he is finishing his dissertation in Sport Management. Andrew is an active member at North Boulevard church of Christ West campus where he serves on the production team as well as assisting with the WestPoint Youth Group.

Randy Bostic

Randy Bostic

Assistant Professor

Randy is founder of Bostic Law, PLLC. A firm that helps protects assets for families and small business. Randy focuses his practice on Estate Planning through wills, trusts, and probate, Elder Law and small business. He teaches Kinesiology and Sports management classes. He was a college baseball coach at Lipscomb and Harding University for five years. Randy has a B.S. from Lipscomb University, an M.S. from Harding University, and a J.D. from the University of Memphis Law School.

Matthew Ruiz

Matthew Ruiz

Director of Exercise and Human Performance Program

Matthew Ruiz joined the Lipscomb faculty in 2015 as an associate professor of kinesiology. Prior to joining Lipscomb, he served as a tenured faculty member, department chair, and 2015 Professor of the Year at Huntington University (Indiana) from 2006-2015. At Lipscomb, he was appointed Director of Graduate Studies in Exercise & Nutrition Science in 2017 and was promoted to the rank of Professor and tenured in 2019. He served as the Presidential Faculty Fellow during the 2019-2020 academic year.
